How has Madibaz Radio / MadibazNews shaped and assisted you in your career now?: I joined Madibaz Radio in 2014 as Presenter and Producer of The Hitlist show on Saturday mornings. Being part of radio helped me with public speaking and to clearly articulate myself, in both social and professional spaces. Furthermore, because of the experience and skills acquired, I now sit in multiple committees and easily show up as myself. Every now and then I also get roles to a Program Director and Facilitate at events or conferences, and it comes naturally easy.
What were the benefits of being part of Madibaz Radio or MadibazNews?: It harnessed my public speaking skills plus communication skills and personal brand development. It also helped with fostering teamwork and giving me free platform for expression and creativity. All that aided in boosting my confidence.
What would you like to share with the students currently working at Madibaz Radio / MadibazNews?:Seize the opportunity to learn as much as you can, not all of us will end up in commercial radio but at least the skills you acquire now will also come in handy in the boardroom and elsewhere in life as you enter the world after university.
